This prompt is a self-exploration of feeling out which major element you resonate with. There’s no right or wrong answer but I do encourage attempting to feel out which is the dominant one. You can attempt to do so intuitively by closing your eyes and attuning to images in your mind that represent each element. Don’t try to cognitively understand them or do research first. Let your common understanding of these elements guide the way. Which lights you up? Which feels representative of you, your history, your path, and your understanding of yourself?
Take 5 minutes to freeform and write in your notes or on paper using this prompt as your guide. If any difficult feelings arise just write them as you’re writing, thank yourself for the awareness, and ask to let it go. You don’t need to solve anything right now. We’re just taking a few moments to attune to ourselves for direction, guidance, support, and awareness.
Here’s my entry:
I’ve always felt connected to wind and water in some way. Fire is just a complete no and please avoid kind of energy while earth is nice but it feels like I need to make an effort to tune to that energy. I appreciate the persistent force of both wind and water but if I search a little deeper the stillness of water and the sudden bursts of energy from water feel more potent to me and my experience.
Lately, I’ve been more focused on water, emotions, fluidity, but also stillness. Squirtle is my favorite Pokemon and I feel myself stagnate when I sit still for too long. Wind has beautiful healing properties on the skin but water makes me stop and take notice. When I cry it’s a major event because it isn’t in my daily flow though I tear pretty regularly. I’m more emotional and volatile than I let myself own. This is something I’m working on as I accept the Pisces Moon aspect of myself, something I never thought I’d be saying out loud even a few months ago.
Fire is helpful in my life when someone else brings it and those who bring fire are upset that I tend to put out the flame which calms rationality. I see the value of fire but I don’t tap into it very often.
Earth helps me be here and ground into the floor. I remember earth energy when I need to be present and calm my anxiety.
I’d like to embrace the water aspects of myself more openly and not be ashamed of my sensitivity. It’s a superpower that I navigate the world with and want to present that on a silver platter for others to see, appreciate, and hopefully learn from. That’s why this platform exists and why I’ll keep writing and sharing for as long as I feasibly can.
So, what about you? Which element do you resonate with? Do you think of them differently? Do you only see one element or multiple? I’d love to know what your experience was like. Consider sharing if this prompt helped you in some way.
